This Okapi piece is simply peaceful to look at - very calm and balanced. A JOY to ponder.
There is a "serious whimsy" about it...yes, I know...a dichotomy... but the character of the Okapi itself, a creature with a naturally FUN ensemble that includes striped tube socks, is a bit whimsical as he stands there among the 'shrooms. The balance of the piece (besides the obvious "balanced composition") is seen in the serene environment, the warm colors and the curious look the Okapi has as he glances back at ME.
